The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.
The first season presents a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.
The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator stated earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.
"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a few fans create a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
